Polycivis Conference Dakar 2025
The Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar will host the Polycivis 2025 Conference in Dakar from April 23 to 26, 2025. The conference is a 4-day scientific event of exchange and reflection on the theme of polycrisis, with the participation of some 50 people from 21 European and African universities, as well as from the private and public sectors.
The conference is organized as part of the polycivis project, a three-year Euro-African collaboration highlighting the global polycrisis, enabling a better understanding of the impacts of simultaneous major societal crises that challenge the world in the form of a polycrisis.
PolyCIVIS explores polycrisis through :
- The various simultaneous crises: examining the intersection of current risks within the framework of a holistic approach to all the different crises.
- Time: combining the latest science with the forgotten lessons of the past.
- Disciplines and scientific groups: adopting a multidisciplinary approach to the complexity of polycrisis.
- Territories and languages: understanding different crises in terms of local, national, regional and continental specificities, as well as language barriers.
Through various activities such as plenary sessions, breakout sessions and roundtables, the conference will serve as a framework to share the most successful results of the different project modules, identify challenges and strengthen collaborations between academics and scientists on the theme of polycrisis.
